Job summary

Merit Health in Flowood, MS seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide patient-centered care through the nursing process in an acute care setting. You will coordinate care, administer medications, and collaborate with physicians and the health team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

The role emphasizes assessment, documentation, patient education, and adherence to infection control and safety standards. Prior ACLS/PALS/NRP certifications are preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in the U.S. state of practice required.
• 0–2 years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting.
• Ability to perform patient assessments and document findings accurately.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers patient-centered care as per nursing process.
• Administers prescribed medications and monitors for side effects.
• Assists physicians during procedures within scope of competency.
• Develops and evaluates individualized care plans with the team.
• Documents care thoroughly in the medical record and communicates changes.
• Educates patients and families on conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
• Maintains infection control and safety standards within unit.
