Louisiana Women’s Healthcare in Baton Rouge seeks a full-time Pre-Certification Specialist to support a high-volume OB-GYN clinic. You will verify insurance eligibility and obtain pre-authorizations to keep care moving smoothly.

The role requires strong communication with providers, patients, and payers, meticulous documentation, HIPAA compliance, and a team-oriented approach in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance authorization requirements and workflows.
• Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards.
• Must demonstrate punctuality and reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance coverage and eligibility and note authorization requirements.
• Communicate with physicians’ staff, insurers, and patients about coverage.
• Obtain prior authorizations with commercial payers, Medicare, and Medicaid.
• Maintain accurate records of benefits, patient info, and status.
• Collect and submit required clinical and administrative information.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and payer procedures; protect privacy.
• Track authorization status and address denials; follow up as needed.
• Ensure benefits are completed for obstetrical patients, pre-ops, and procedures.
