Ascension St. Vincent OB/GYN Residency Program is seeking a full-time Board Certified OB/GYN Physician Faculty Member. This 1.0 FTE position comprises 0.8 FTE for PCC OB/GYN clinic work and resident supervision, with 0.2 FTE OB Hospitalist coverage.

Based in Indianapolis, you will teach residents and engage in academic activities, patient care across ambulatory and hospital services, and collaborate with Family Medicine residents, APPs and Medical Students.

Qualifications

• MD/DO credentialed from Indiana Medical Licensing Board required prior to hire.
• ALS preferred (AHA or ARC accepted).
• Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy required.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical services to patients in an assigned area.
• Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills; coordinate discharge planning with case management.
• Recommend, participate in, and work to ensure cost effectiveness and quality of care.
• Accept patient referrals from other physicians; act as admitting/attending/consulting physician for hospital patients.
• Participate in academic programs (e.g., medical education and research).
• Provide documentation meeting insurance requirements; appeal denials.
• Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultation, including on-call schedules.

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)

Indiana Medical Licensing Board licensure

Advanced Life Support (ALS) preferred

Your future role at a glance

Ascension St. Vincent OB/GYN Residency Program is seeking a FULL TIME Board Certified OB/GYN Physician Faculty Member. This is a great teaching opportunity in an immersive academic atmosphere within the OB/GYN residency program. This position is a 1.0 FTE, broken down accordingly; 0.8 FTE focuses primarily on PCC OB/GYN clinic work and resident supervision in the ambulatory setting, with some weekday coverage of the GYN hospital service included in this portion of the role. The remaining 0.2 FTE would provide OB Hospitalist coverage.

You will be working primarily with OB/GYN residents at various levels but will also encounter learners in every field from Family Medicine residents to APPs and Medical Students.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Provide medical services to patients in an assigned area.
• Evaluate and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinate discharge planning with case management.
• Recommend, participate in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
• Accept patient referrals from other physicians. Act as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
• Participate in academic programs (eg medical education and research) as requested.
• Provide appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
• Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
