Job summary

Ascension Forest Park in Kokomo, IN is seeking a FULL TIME OBGYN to join our established OB team. The position offers call coverage with two other physicians and hospitalists, plus a supportive environment in a growing community just north of Indianapolis.

Requirements include MD/DO, Licensure in Indiana, Board Certification or Board Eligible, and Neonatal Resuscitation certification. NRP is required at this location. Competitive benefits and relocation assistance may be available.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and treats patients with medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
• Coordinates discharge planning and participates in quality/improvement efforts.
• Accepts referrals and acts as admitting/consulting physician for hospitalizations.
• Participates in academic programs as requested.
• Documents to meet insurer requirements and manages denials.
• Inpatient and outpatient consultations, including on-call schedules.

Ascension Medical Group; Forest Park in Kokomo, IN is looking for a FULL TIME OBGYN to join our OB team.

Kokomo is a great community, located about 1 hour North of Indianapolis and a quick 20 minute drive from Westfield, IN which is one of the fastest growing, affluent big city with small town feel in America! Kokomo is also home to the first commercially built automobile!

How you’ll make an impact in this role

OB Position Highlights

• We support most of the OB needs for Kokomo and the surrounding area
• We are averaging 60-80 births per month.
• We currently have 1 physician, 2 full time OBGYN Hospitalists, 2 CNM and 5 NPs, and 3 sonographers.
• Physician will share the call with the 1 other physician and 2 OBGYN Hospitalists.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation certification) is required for our location
• Board Certification/Board Eligible required

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinates discharge planning with case management.
• Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
• Accepts patient referrals from other physicians. Acts as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
• Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested.
• Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
• Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
