Job summary
Riverside Healthcare in Kankakee, Illinois seeks an OB/GYN Registered Nurse to provide compassionate care to women across pregnancy, labor, postpartum, and gynecologic needs. You will collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other professionals to ensure safe, evidence-based care and positive patient outcomes.
The role requires shifts, patient education, assisting with labor and delivery, newborn care, and counseling on reproductive health.
Qualifications
- Current RN license in Illinois required.
- BLS certification required; NRP certification required or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
- New grads starting 1/1/25 must earn BSN within 3 years.
- Minimum of one year RN experience in OB/L&D or Gynecology preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient education and support during pregnancy and postpartum.
- Care for women after labor and childbirth with monitoring and interventions as needed.
- Assist physicians after labor, delivery, and emergent situations.
- Administer pain management and other medications after labor and delivery.
- Educate patients and families on newborn care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery.
- Support gynecologic procedures with pre- and post-operative care.
- Educate on reproductive health, contraception, and preventive care.
- Participate in Code OB/Code Blue and other emergency protocols.
