Qualifications

• 2+ years experience as Medical Assistant; OB/GYN required.
• Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations and procedures to administer patient care.
• Medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
• Ability to maintain quality control standards.
• React calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients to the examining room; make them feel welcome and comfortable.
• Prepare and assist patients for exams; obtain urine specimens, check vital signs, document symptoms, complaints and medications, prepare for lab tests and procedures.
• Assist the physician, residents and fellows with exams and procedures.
• Educate patients on health care concerns and problems, office and hospital procedures, birth control, prenatal, postpartum and gynecological care, medications, infertility, testing and surgery.
• Perform phlebotomy and take lab specimens.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and infection control.
