Job summary

Women’s Care is seeking a Medical Assistant at our Brandon, FL site. You will prep patients, assist physicians in examinations and procedures, and handle rooms, records, and vitals. The role emphasizes HIPAA compliance, accurate data entry in EMR (eCW), and teamwork.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, MA certification or eligibility, CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain quickly. Experience in OBGYN or Primary Care is a plus, with solid organizational skills and reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• MA certification preferred or able to obtain within first 120 days.
• Graduate of nationally accredited MA program or Armed Forces Medical Technician accepted.
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtainable within 30 days via Women’s Care training.
• Experience in OBGYN or Primary Care a plus.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to perform phlebotomy and injections, if applicable.
• Ability to perform dosage calculations and measurement conversions.
• Able to interact professionally with all levels of staff and patients.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills, punctual and dependable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during treatment/procedures.
• Prepare, restock, and sterilize examination rooms, procedure rooms, lab area and care spaces.
• Record patients' medical history, health maintenance, and chief complaint.
• Measure, record, and document vital signs.
• Perform phlebotomy, injections and specimen collection as directed.
• Educate patients with information and instructions per provider.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient privacy.
• Relay messages between patients, front office staff and providers.
