Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and healthcare professionals in a fast-paced clinical setting. The MA handles front- and back-office tasks, including gathering vital signs, patient prep for exams, and coordinating tests and follow-up care.

Under the supervision of the Nurse Supervisor or Practice Manager, you will help ensure patient safety, provide compassionate care, and participate in daily huddles and team-based workflows.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS/ARC-BLS/BLS-Instructor certification required on hire.
• CMA, NRCMA, NCMA, RMA, or CCMA certification required on hire.
• Minimum 1 year experience in physician practice preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and records vital signs and other patient information.
• Prepares patients for exams and assists during treatments.
• Coordinates tests and follow-up care.
• Maintains patient safety and quality of care.
• Supports front office tasks as needed.
