Job summary

The Cleveland Clinic Akron General Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking a board-certified Ob/Gyn Hospitalist to lead hospital-based obstetric and acute gynecologic care. The role includes supervision of OB/GYN residents and medical students, and collaboration with Maternal-Fetal Medicine to coordinate transfers and consultations.

Typical duties involve supervising the Obstetric Emergency Department, Labor and Delivery, and perinatal safety, with shifts totaling 36–48 hours per

Qualifications

• Board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology with hospital-based obstetric experience.
• Willingness to supervise residents and medical students.
• Experience in perinatal center care and academic activities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise OB/GYN care in the Obstetric Emergency Department, Labor and Delivery, and perinatal safety.
• Respond to OB/GYN emergencies across the hospital and manage admissions from Women’s Health Clinic.
• Collaborate with Maternal-Fetal Medicine for transfers and provide OB/GYN consultations as needed.
• Supervise residents and medical students; participate in teaching and clinical governance.
