Job summary

Ridgecrest Regional Hospital in Ridgecrest, California, is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for its OB-focused outpatient clinic. The CMA will support clinical and administrative tasks under supervision to ensure efficient operations and a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, taking vital signs, assisting with procedures, coordinating appointments, managing records and referrals, and handling insurance authorizations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current CMA certification; certification must be maintained.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by hire or within two months.
• English language communication skills.
• Experience with office organization and basic clerical tasks.
• Experience with computers and PC Windows software.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care support, including taking vital signs and preparing patients for examinations.
• Assist providers during clinical procedures and patient visits.
• Support efficient patient flow throughout clinic visits and other patient encounters.
• Schedule appointments, maintain medical records, and process referrals.
• Manage patient communications and complete insurance and medication prior authorizations accurately.
• Collaborate with clinic staff, RRH departments, external facilities, and contract/volunteer personnel.
• Deliver care in a team-based outpatient clinic serving diverse patients with potential barriers.
