Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support OB and newborn care under the direction of Nursing and Medical Staff. The role includes patient care, ADL assistance, and clerical support within a team focused on Mercy Service Standards.

This full-time position offers a 36-hour week with a night shift (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM). Requires HS diploma or GED, CNA or Mercy UAP training within 90 days, and BLS.

Qualifications

• High-School Diploma or GED required.
• CNA certification or Mercy UAP training within 90 days of hire.
• American Heart Association BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and supportive services under Nursing/Medical staff supervision.
• Assist obstetric, newborn, and postpartum patients with ADLs and basic care.
• Perform clerical and non-clinical duties including patient records management, bed control, and supply maintenance.
