Job summary

UNC Health Appalachian in Boone, NC seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Birthing Center to deliver direct and indirect nursing care for mothers and newborns, monitor maternal-fetal status, and support families through labor and delivery. The role requires strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and patient-centered care.

You will collaborate with physicians and midwives, maintain EMR documentation, and adhere to policies while ensuring high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced obstetric setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. ADN required; BSN preferred.
• Minimum two years of Labor & Delivery RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect nursing care in the Birthing Center.
• Monitor maternal and fetal conditions; respond promptly to changes.
• Perform diagnostic tests, assessments, and interventions for safe labor and delivery.
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and care teams to deliver coordinated care.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure patient safety and policy adherence.
