Job summary

HMSA seeks an AI and Automation Manager to lead the planning, development, and implementation of AI strategies within the organization. The role requires overseeing multidisciplinary teams and ensuring projects align with business objectives and regulatory standards.

The position focuses on guiding AI-driven initiatives, collaborating across IT, product, and compliance, and promoting a culture of continuous learning while managing budgets and timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Engineering or related field.
• Five years of experience managing AI, Automation, ML, or Data Science projects.
• Two years of supervisory/management experience.
• Experience with cloud platforms and data technologies.
• Deep understanding of AI methodologies including supervised/unsupervised learning, NLP, computer vision, and predictive analytics.
• Familiarity with GDPR/CCPA and ethical AI principles.
• Strong data security and privacy understanding.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Proficiency in Python, R, Agents, Studio, Anthropic, Ansible, UIPath and AI frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the organization's AI and automation strategy aligned with business goals.
• Oversee end-to-end lifecycle of AI projects from ideation to deployment and maintenance.
• Lead and mentor a team of AI/automation specialists, data scientists, engineers and analysts.
• Collaborate with IT, product, operations, and compliance to ensure project success.
• Monitor trends to identify innovation opportunities.
• Establish best practices for AI model development, testing, validation, and deployment.
• Ensure compliance with ethical, privacy, and regulatory standards in AI solutions.
• Manage budgets, timelines, and resources for AI initiatives.
• Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes to leadership and stakeholders.
• Foster continuous learning within the AI automation team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
