Job summary

PlanIT Group, LLC is seeking an experienced IT Systems Engineer to install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows OS, Windows Server, AD, and GPOs across a distributed team. The role emphasizes minimal supervision, strong communication, and end-user training.

Candidates should have VMware experience and be familiar with monitoring tools (PRTG, Nagios), backup/replication solutions, and O365 migration tools such as AvePoint or BitTitan.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows OS, Windows Server, AD, and GPOs.
• Strong communication and documentation abilities.
• Experience with vendors to update Email preferences.
• Experience with virtualization (VMware).
• Familiar with monitoring systems (PRTG, Nagios).
• Experience with Backup/Replication (Backup Exec, Double-Take, RecoverPoint, Veeam).
• PowerShell data extraction from Exchange.
• Exchange or O365 migration and troubleshooting.
• End user training and documentation experience.
• Exposure to O365 migration tools (AvePoint, BitTitan).
• Knowledge of migrating SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams between tenants.

Job description

• 10+ years' experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows operating system, Windows Server, Active Directory, and GPOs
• Ability to work with minimal direction
• Ability to work with a Distributed team
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and concisely at multiple levels between business and IT staff
• Experience with working with Vendors to update Email preferences.
• Experience with virtualization (VMWare)
• Understanding of monitoring systems (PRTG, Nagios)
• Experience with Backup and Replication systems (Backup Exec, Double-Take, RecoverPoint, Veeam)
• Need to be comfortable running PowerShell commands to extract data out of Exchange
• Microsoft Exchange or O365 Migration and troubleshooting experience.
• Outstanding time management and problem-solving skills
• End user Training and documentation experience
• Experience with O365 Migration tools like AvePoint, Bit Titan, etc..
• Experience with Proofpoint a plus
• Knowledge of migrating and validating SharePoint, One drive, and teams from one tenant to another.
