Job description

Important: This position requires U.S. citizenship or Permanent Residency.

Our client is building the next generation of intelligent wireless networks — combining Open RAN architectures, RF machine learning, and cybersecurity to solve problems that don't yet have off-the-shelf answers. We're looking for a hands-on software developer who wants to write real code against real hardware, not just sit in meetings about it.

This is an execution role: you'll be building, integrating, and testing software for O-RAN and Beyond 5G (B5G) systems— developing xApps/rApps, working directly with software-defined radios and wireless testbeds, and applying RFML techniques to spectrum awareness, anomaly detection, and network security. If you like taking a concept from the whiteboard to a working prototype, this is the job for you.

What You'll Do
  • Design, develop, and test software for O-RAN and NextG wireless systems, including xApps and rApps
  • Integrate software with SDRs, wireless testbeds, and embedded/RF hardware
  • Build and maintain real-time and near-real-time wireless applications
  • Develop APIs connecting wireless, ML, cybersecurity, and network-management components
  • Support system integration, lab testing, demos, and technical evaluations
  • Troubleshoot software, RF, and hardware-in-the-loop issues
  • Document designs, test procedures, and results; contribute to technical reports and publications as needed
Required Qualifications

Hands-on knowledge of O-RAN/5G technologies, architectures, or systems

  • Experience developing or integrating software for wireless communications systems
  • Strong programming proficiency in C, C++, and Python
  • Experience developing, debugging, and testing software in Linux
  • U.S. person status, including U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents (green card holders), with ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. Government security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Development Experience with OpenAirInterface, or srsRAN/OCUDU
  • Experience building O-RAN xApps or rApps
  • Familiarity with the RIC, SMO, or near-real-time network control
  • Applied ML on RF/wireless signal data, including model deployment or real-time inference
  • Multithreading, concurrency, or SMP-safe programming
  • Real-time/low-latency software or embedded systems experience
  • Containerization, virtualization, or cloud-native development
  • Git, CI/CD, or software configuration management experience
Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, wireless communications, or a related technical field. Advanced degree preferred. Equivalent hands-on experience will be considered.
