Overview
This position will work within our O&M team, part of our Asset Management division, responsible for the technical management of a growing portfolio of utility-scale renewable energy projects across the United States (currently 330 MW). The team manages operations to optimize performance. The role reports to the Director of O&M Services.
Core Responsibilities
- Monitor projects and coordinate repairs with O&M contractors.
- Work with equipment suppliers for warranty support and issue resolution.
- Review project designs for O&M suitability and provide feedback.
- Coordinate procurement of parts and services.
- Manage spare parts inventories and recommend improvements.
- Share lessons learned with relevant teams.
- Assist technicians in troubleshooting and solution formulation.
- Support third-party troubleshooters for complex issues.
- Track issues and update work orders, considering fiscal impacts.
- Oversee site production and support monitoring teams.
- Assist in creating and maintaining annual operating budgets.
- Issue work orders with specific scopes.
- Maintain technical reports and performance assessments.
- Provide remote troubleshooting support for tracker and sensor issues.
- Manage contractors for vegetation, site maintenance, and connectivity issues.
- Support the commissioning and onboarding of new projects.
- Periodic travel may be required.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 3 years of experience in solar energy, preferably utility-scale.
- Experience in solar installation, construction, and O&M, including troubleshooting various equipment components.
- Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office, web-based software like PowerFactors, Radian Lens, and Salesforce.
- Ability to work independently and proactively.
- Experience with battery energy storage systems is a plus.
