Our Development team seeks a talented Transmission Engineer Associate to support our growing company. Owned by KIRKBI, the private investment company of the Kirk Kristiansen family, we aim to build a sustainable future for the LEGO brand across generations.

Overview

This entry-level role in our Interconnection and Transmission department involves research, data analysis, and project support for utility-scale solar and BESS projects. Responsibilities include preliminary site screenings, interconnection application preparation, market research, and other development tasks. Ideal for a recent graduate eager to start a career in renewable energy and transmission. Reports to the Director of Interconnection and Transmission. The candidate should preferably be based near our Bay Area headquarters.

Core Responsibilities

• Conduct research on transmission systems, interconnection opportunities, and market dynamics.
• Support interconnection application preparation for Solar PV, PV+BESS, and standalone BESS projects.
• Assist in preliminary transmission screenings to identify viable project locations.
• Help track project interconnection milestones and maintain documentation.
• Summarize findings and communicate effectively with project teams.
• Support evaluation of grid upgrade costs and schedules under guidance.
• Assist with utility and ISO/RTO correspondence and documentation.
• Participate in project meetings and contribute to problem-solving.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, or related field (required).
• Internship or project experience in renewable energy, transmission, or power systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with basic power system concepts (transmission, load flow, interconnection).
• Exposure to modeling software like PSS/E, PowerWorld, PSLF, or TARA is a plus.
• Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Self-motivated with eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure.
