Job summary

Ormat Technologies, Inc. is seeking an on-site engineer to provide general engineering support for battery storage and power plant operations. You will help develop operating procedures, troubleshoot plant systems, and participate in preventive maintenance and efficiency improvements.

The role requires knowledge of PLC/SCADA instrumentation, electrical systems, and safety protocols, with potential travel up to 25% for site coverage and vendor coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of operating a power plant or battery storage facility.
• Experience with mechanical and electrical systems and maintenance.
• Familiarity with PLC-based instrumentation and control systems.
• Knowledge of power electronics in utility environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to travel 25% overnight.

Responsibilities

• Understand battery operation including start-up, shutdown and emergency actions.
• Perform routine and non-routine preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment.
• Take plant rounds, logs and adjust equipment as required.
• Coordinate support contractors and internal resources.
• Requisition and assist in ordering plant materials and parts.
• Represent the Company with vendors and regulators as assigned.
• Comply with safety procedures and continuously enhance knowledge.
