Job summary

AABR in College Point, NY is seeking a full-time maintenance mechanic to identify repair and maintenance needs of residential and educational properties under the Maintenance Manager. Responsibilities include inspecting, troubleshooting, performing preventative maintenance, and completing plumbing, carpentry, masonry, and electrical repairs, plus painting and air-conditioner unit work.

The role requires a valid NY driver’s license and safety certifications, with travel across NYC and flexible

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years experience in electrical, mechanical, plumbing and carpentry repair.
• Valid NY State driver’s license.
• FDNY Certificate of Fitness (S-95) and related certifications.
• Familiar with safety practices on job sites.
• Experience with electronic work order systems (CMMS).

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, perform scheduled preventative maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Repair water, drainage, waste lines and plumbing fixtures.
• Repair masonry, floors, walls, ceilings and wood surfaces.
• Paint and refinish wood, metal, brick and concrete surfaces.
• Repair office furniture, windows, doors, lighting and fixtures.
• Install/remove window air conditioning units.
• Respond to maintenance requests promptly and safely.
• Maintain records of work via the work order system.
