Job summary

HeyTutor is partnering with a school in Far Rockaway, NY to provide high-impact, in-person tutoring for students in grades 6–8. Applicants must have completed an Associate’s degree or higher or be currently enrolled in college. An FBI-DOJ in-person background check is required, with in-person tutoring and consistent weekday hours.

The role offers $32–$38 per hour, attendance-based incentives, voluntary health, a 401(k), and meaningful work in a community setting.

Qualifications

• Completed AA degree or higher, or currently enrolled in college.
• Experience working with children or tutoring preferred.
• Comfortable tutoring Middle School Math.
• Ability to manage large groups of students independently.
• Pass FBI-DOJ in-person background check.

Responsibilities

• Tutor groups of students without direct teacher supervision.
• Deliver lessons using provided curriculum and materials.
• Create an engaging, welcoming learning environment.
• Support positive student behavior and participation.
• Track attendance and student progress using the HeyTutor Dashboard.
• Assist with student assessments when requested.
• Escort students to and from designated areas on campus.
• Clock in/out daily using Deputy.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.

About the Role

HeyTutor has partnered with a school in Far Rockaway New York to provide high-impact, in-person tutoring to high school students. Applicants must have completed an Associate’s degree or higher, or be currently enrolled in college.

Schedule

• Monday,Wednesday, Friday availability required
• Must be available between the hours 8:00am - 4:30pm
