Job summary

Bright Horizons is seeking a Child Care Field Assistant Director in New York to support the Center Director with daily operations, education programming, and staff mentoring. This leadership role focuses on building strong relationships with families and ensuring high-quality care in a compliant center environment.

The position requires a bachelor's or master's in Education, NYS teaching certification, and at least two years of supervisory/administrative experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education is required.
• NYS Teaching Certification (B-2, N-6, 1-6, Special Education) is required.
• At least two years of center supervisory or administrative experience in a high-quality program required; experience in a NAEYC-accredited center strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Uphold mission, culture and values; foster inclusive environment and strong family/staff relationships.
• Monitor program quality; document children's learning visibly.
• Ensure compliance with licensing, accreditation, health/safety protocols, and company policies.
• Meet state/local licensing credentials and be qualified for Bright Horizons and client requirements.
• Travel up to 1.5 hours each way for temporary assignments; lead staff in curriculum implementation.
