Job summary

Heartfelt Builders is hiring a designated Site Safety Manager for NYC construction sites (Queens/Brooklyn offices). You will oversee safety operations on one active site at a time and coordinate with the superintendent and operations team.

Requirements include an active NYC DOB Site Safety Manager license, SST Supervisor card and OSHA 30 Construction, plus at least 3 years of NYC construction-site safety experience. Expect a 60-hour work week with overtime at 1.5x and US work authorization.

• At least 3 years’ NYC construction-site safety experience on major-building projects.
• U.S. work authorization.
• Availability for a 60-hour schedule.

• Conduct daily safety inspections and maintain safety logs.
• Enforce NYC Building Code Chapter 33 and OSHA rules.
• Handle DOB inspections, violations and stop-work issues.
• Run toolbox talks and worker orientations.
• Coordinate with the superintendent and operations team.
• Reassignment to other active NYC sites may be required.

Job description

Job Description Active NYC DOB Site Safety Manager license required. SST/OSHA cards alone do not qualify. Queens construction sites; Brooklyn office. $40-$45/hour W-2 plus 1.5x overtime after 40 hours. Expected 60 hours/week: $2,800-$3,150 gross/week when 60 hours are worked.

• Conduct daily safety inspections and maintain safety logs
• Enforce NYC Building Code Chapter 33 and OSHA rules
• Handle DOB inspections, violations and stop-work issues
• Run toolbox talks and worker orientations
• Coordinate with the superintendent and operations team
• Reassignment to other active NYC sites may be required as workload permits

Requirements

• Active NYC DOB Site Safety Manager license in good standing
• Current SST Supervisor card and OSHA 30 Construction
• At least 3 years of NYC construction-site safety experience on major-building projects with approved Site Safety Plans
• U.S. work authorization
• Availability for the stated 60-hour schedule
• An SSC license or training certificate alone does not meet the SSM requirement

Preferred

• At least 2 years serving as the designated licensed SSM
• New-building, concrete or demolition experience
• DOB NOW experience
