ANE Consulting in Downtown Manhattan, NY, is seeking a Site Safety Monitor to join our safety team across multiple active construction and demolition sites.

You will perform routine inspections, push for compliance with Health and Safety Plans, review incidents, and contribute to toolbox talks and field reviews. This is a full-time, on-site role with competitive pay and involvement in a long-term, multi-site program.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of construction safety experience or equivalent on large public-sector projects.
• Active NYC Department of Buildings Site Safety Manager (SSM) license or CHST or 62 SST license.
• Experience with Job Hazard Analyses, incident reports and safety plans.
• On-call availability for short-notice assignments.

ANE Consulting is a successful construction management services firm supporting large, high-visibility public-sector projects across New York City. As part of a multi-year program, ANE Consulting is providing program-wide support services including safety oversight to AECOM Hill JV on the NYC Department of Design and Constructions multi-site Rikers Program.

About the Role

As Site Safety Monitor, you will act as an extension of the Program Safety team and serve as a key field presence for safety compliance across multiple active construction and demolition sites. You will perform routine safety inspections, ensure adherence to Health and Safety requirements, document field conditions, and support incident review processes. This role is central to maintaining safe operations and ensuring Design Builders meet all applicable regulations and project requirements throughout this high-profile, multi-year program.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine safety inspections at downtown Manhattan construction and demolition site

• Issue safety reports within 24 hours of each site visit, documenting findings, required corrections, and applicable regulations.

• Review incident investigation reports and provide input to the Program Safety Manager.

• Conduct on-site safety review meetings, toolbox talks, and safety check-ins with field teams.

• Verify Design Builder adherence to all Health and Safety Plans, General Project Requirements, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

• 15+ years of construction safety experience, or a combination of education and experience supporting large, complex projects (public sector or infrastructure preferred).

• Active NYC Department of Buildings Site Safety Manager (SSM) license ORCHST license or 62 SST license

• Experience with Job Hazard Analyses, incident reports, Health & Safety Plans, and field safety documentation.

• Reliable same-day availability for on-call coverage, including short-notice assignments.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety reporting platforms (such as LifeGuard or similar).
