Job summary

Actalent in Livonia, MI is seeking an NX Mechanical Designer to design structural components, frames, and enclosures using Siemens NX. You''ll develop 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings for complex systems in a hybrid work environment.

Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing teams; ensure manufacturability, GD&T compliance, and documentation. This is a contract role based in Livonia with a hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Siemens NX for 3D modeling, assemblies and drawings.
• Experience designing structural components, frames, enclosures and exterior automotive structures.
• Knowledge of GD&T and mechanical engineering principles.
• Ability to work from requirements and sketches with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate 3D CAD models and detailed drawings using Siemens NX.
• Design structural components, frames, brackets, supports, panels, and equipment enclosures.
• Support mechanical packaging and integration of electrical components and cabinets.
• Create and maintain assemblies and subassemblies with traceability.
• Produce manufacturing drawings with dimensions, tolerances, materials, and fabrication details.
• Design fabricated and sheet-metal components considering manufacturing requirements.
• Modify designs based on reviews and feedback.
• Ensure designs meet fit, form, function, manufacturability, and serviceability.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, and project teams throughout the lifecycle.
• Maintain CAD models, drawings, and documentation up-to-date.
