Job summary

Actalent is seeking an NX Mechanical Designer in Livonia, MI to develop 3D models and manufacturing drawings using Siemens NX. You will design frames, enclosures, and electrical packaging while collaborating with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing teams to ensure manufacturability and proper documentation.

The role requires 5+ years in mechanical design with strong NX skills and experience in sheet-metal and automotive exterior structures.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on proficiency with Siemens NX for 3D modeling, assemblies, and detailed drawings.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings using Siemens NX.
• Design structural components, including frames, brackets, supports, panels, and equipment enclosures.
• Support mechanical packaging and integration of electrical components, cabinets, panels, and related hardware.
• Create, organize, and maintain assemblies, subassemblies, and component models to ensure consistency and traceability.
• Produce manufacturing drawings with appropriate dimensions, tolerances, materials, and fabrication details to support production.
• Design fabricated and sheet-metal components while considering manufacturing and assembly requirements.
• Perform design modifications based on engineering reviews, manufacturing feedback, and evolving project requirements.
• Review designs for fit, form, function, manufacturability, serviceability, and assembly to ensure robust and efficient solutions.
• Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, and project engineering teams throughout the design lifecycle.
• Maintain CAD models, drawings, and associated engineering documentation in an organized and up-to-date manner.
