Job summary

Responsibilities

• Inventory and storage management: check in new product deliveries, inspect items for damage, verify quantities; organize and stock dry storage rooms, walk-in coolers and freezers; rotate items using FIFO; label food items; track stock levels and report shortages.
• Kitchen assistance and sanitation: assist chefs with basic prep tasks; break down boxes and manage waste disposal; clean and sanitize storage areas, refrigerators, freezers, and floors; dispose of expired or spoiled food per health regulations.

What You Will Do

Inventory and Storage Management

• Check in new product deliveries, inspecting items for damage and verifying quantities.
• Organize and stock dry storage rooms, walk-in coolers, and freezers.
• Rotate food and supply items using safety guidelines like FIFO (First-In, First-Out) to manage expiration dates.
• Label food items properly and pull required inventory for daily meal service.
• Track supply levels and report shortages or low stock to management

Kitchen Assistance and Sanitation

• Help chefs and cooks with basic recipe preparation tasks like cutting, chopping, and washing produce.
• Break down empty shipping boxes, take out trash, and maintain clean waste disposal areas.
• Clean and sanitize storage areas, refrigerators, freezers, and general kitchen floors.
• Dispose of expired or spoiled food according to health and safety regulations.
