Job summary

AdventHealth in Minneola, FL is seeking a dietary aide to guide patients through meal ordering and ensure tray accuracy and satisfaction. You will verify patient identifiers, support positive dining experiences, and collaborate with nursing staff to address concerns.

The role requires communication in English, ability to work in a fast-paced setting, and compatibility with therapeutic diets. Preferred bilingual English/Spanish, High School grad, and 2+ years in food service.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to communicate in English.
  • Ability to communicate with customers in person and by phone professionally.
  • Ability to handle customer interactions promptly, courteously, and helpfully.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to use common software/hardware (e.g., iPad, ToughBook).
  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets (preferred).
  • Ability to multi-task effectively (preferred).
  • Bilingual English/Spanish (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Guide patients through the meal ordering process using a computerized diet office system.
  • Verify patient identifiers during meal delivery and ensure tray accuracy.
  • Confirm patients have everything they need before leaving the room.
  • Round on patients and nursing staff to identify and resolve foodservice concerns.
  • Take ownership of complaints and implement service recovery.
  • Assemble and deliver trays according to therapeutic diet guidelines.
  • Maintain timely and accurate service across all patient areas.
  • Perform physically active duties including walking long distances, standing long hours.
  • Work up to 12-hour shifts while keeping a clean, organized, and compliant environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

Guide patients through the meal ordering process using a computerized diet office system, ensuring selections align with prescribed diets and enhancing satisfaction through personalized suggestions. Verify patient identifiers during meal delivery, ensure tray accuracy, and confirm patients have everything they need before leaving the room to support a positive dining experience. Round on patients and nursing staff to identify and resolve foodservice concerns, taking ownership of complaints and implementing service recovery to improve patient experience scores. Assemble and deliver trays according to therapeutic diet guidelines and presentation standards, maintaining timely and accurate service across all patient areas. Perform physically active duties including walking long distances, standing for extended periods, and working up to 12-hour shifts while maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant work environment. Other duties as assigned.

Additional Information:
  • Food Safety Handler Certificate preferred or as required by state

  • Food Safety Manager Certificate preferred or as required by state

Licenses and Certifications:
  • Food Handler Certificate (FHC) [Preferred]

  • Certified Food Safety Manager (CFSM) [Preferred]

Pay Range:

$15.31 - $24.49
