Responsibilities

• Prepares meal items according to planned menus and standardized recipes.
• Reviews menus, resident census information, production guides and pre-prep sheets to determine food quantities.
• Prepares food according to safe handling guidelines and regulations; assists with ordering, storage and preparation as designated by supervisor.
• Maintains standards for food preparation and quality; uses nutrition substitutes when required; follows recipes.
• Operates kitchen equipment to prepare items and ensure timely service.
• Prepares and serves food attractively; tests palatability and monitors temperatures.
• Makes menu changes under supervisor direction; refers to supervisor or dietitian for approval.
