Job summary

The CDC Foundation is seeking a full-time Technical Advisor for Nutrition Surveillance to support the DNPAO team’s national and state monitoring of dietary behavior and food security. The role requires expert epidemiology, strong R and SAS skills, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable briefs.

Hybrid work at a CDC Atlanta campus with on-site requirements and collaboration across federal partners.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nutrition, public health, epidemiology, or related field.
• 5+ years in nutrition research or public health data analysis.
• Experience with federal government settings and writing for government agencies.
• 3+ years analyzing complex survey data and longitudinal data.
• Experience in nutrition survey and surveillance data management and analysis.
• Advanced expertise using R and SAS.
• Strong ability to communicate complex analytic and nutritional information.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide epidemiological nutrition subject matter expertise to strengthen surveillance priorities.
• Analyze complex survey data to monitor dietary behaviors and food intake.
• Maintain repository of scientific literature on ultra-processed foods.
• Provide epidemiological consultation and support using surveillance methods.
• Analyze nutrition and food security data with validation/replication analyses.
• Write high-quality briefing documents, publications, and presentations.
• Contribute to writing peer-reviewed articles outlining key findings.
• Summarize findings for federal agencies, scientific community and partners.
• Communicate activities to team members and leadership as requested.
• Disseminate information within CDC and externally under guidance.
