Position Description

TITLE: Part Time Nutrition Services Associate - entry level position
LOCATION: SPRING LAKE PARK HIGH SCHOOL
HOURS: 5.75 HOURS/DAY; 7:45-1:30
DUTY DAYS: 165 STUDENT CONTACT and 3 PROFESSIONAL LEARNING days based on school year calendar; September-June & Two training days
START DATE: Immediate opening
RATE OF PAY: $19.75/hr with additional $1.00/hr differential if employee holds Certified Food Manager certification. Longevity pay $1.50-$2.75/hr.


ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

SLP HIGH SCHOOL nutrition team proudly serves students in grades 9-12, serving OVER 500 BREAKFAST and 1300 LUNCHES/DAY. Responsibilities include:

  1. Performing duties as assigned by the kitchen manager including but not limited to food prep, serving, cashiering, and operating a dish machine
  2. Maintaining a friendly and professional attitude when interacting with all students, staff and co-workers
  3. Attending job-related training classes and workshops to meet the professional standards guidelines of 4 hours/year
  4. Following Department Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP)
  5. Maintaining high standards and working knowledge of food safety and sanitation pursuant to the Minnesota Food Code

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Must have earned a high school diploma or equivalent
  2. Must complete and pass a background check and a pre-work physical
  3. Must provide and pass 3 professional reference checks
  4. Must have working knowledge of computers to include but not limited to email
  5. Experience working in the food service industry is preferred

PREFERENCES:

Must have a pleasant disposition towards students while serving breakfast and lunch.
