Job summary

Aramark is seeking a Patient Services Worker to support hospital and long-term care diet services. The role liaises between patients, the Food and Nutrition Services Department, and Nursing Services to ensure accurate interpretation and follow-through of diet orders.

You will deliver patient trays, collect nourishments, verify patient preferences, and communicate dietary needs to the department while maintaining sanitation standards and restocking unit supplies to support daily operations.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
• Bilingual abilities preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Delivers and collects patient trays during meal service.
• Delivers nourishments and/or snacks to patients as ordered by physician/dietitian.
• Visits patients to introduce the services of the Food and Nutrition Services Department.
• May obtain food preferences/dislikes from patients and/or family members.
• Communicate all patient food needs to the appropriate area of the Food and Nutrition Services Department.
• Ensures that nutrition diet care orders are provided to the patient by offering appropriate menu selections.
• Maintains sanitation standards by following cleaning schedules and completing sanitation tasks as assigned.
• Inventories and restocks pantries, refrigerators, and freezers on assigned unit(s).
• Maintains temperature logs for unit refrigerators and freezers.
• Understands therapeutic diets using established protocols and seeks assistance when needed.
• Assists the clinical staff in ensuring all patients\' basic nutrition care needs are met.
