Job summary

The Alden Network seeks a licensed Registered Dietitian to lead the Dietary Department in our Illinois facility. You will direct operation, education, and compliance with federal/state/local standards.

This role requires strong leadership and the ability to manage staff, budgets, and quality assurance programs. Responsibilities include supervising FNS personnel, ensuring diet accuracy, attending care plan conferences, and maintaining up-to-date diet documentation.

Qualifications

• Must be a Licensed Registered Dietitian or clinically qualified nutrition professional.
• CDM certification or equivalent national food service management certification preferred.
• Associate’s or higher degree in food service management or hospitality with relevant coursework.
• If hired before Nov 28, 2016, CDM deadline by Nov 28, 2021; after, by Nov 28, 2027.
• Current sanitation certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• Solid knowledge of Federal and State LTC nutrition regulations.
• English reading/writing/speaking proficiency is required.
• Ability to make independent decisions in residents' best interest.
• Professional interaction with residents, families, staff and agencies.
• Ability to work harmoniously with personnel and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Ensure department policies and procedures are followed.
• Attend resident care plan conferences and participate actively.
• Assess nutritional status per standards of care.
• Supervise FNS staff including credentials and training.
• Schedule department work hours and assignments to expedite tasks.
• Plan, conduct, and participate in in-service education.
• Order food, equipment, and supplies within approved budget.
• Develop and implement the facility's Quality Assurance program.
• Perform rounds to ensure food safety, temperatures, and labeling compliance.
• Review and respond to resident food concerns and diet histories.
