Job summary

The Alden Network in Illinois is seeking a licensed nutrition professional to plan, direct, educate, and oversee the Dietary Department in alignment with Federal, State, and local standards and as directed by the Administrator.

You will lead FNS staff, coordinate nutrition care plans, ensure LTC regulations compliance, and manage dietary operations to support resident well-being and high-quality meals.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Dietitian, or other clinically qualified nutrition professional as defined by CMS F801 483.60(a)(1).
• Certification as Certified Dietary Manager or national certification for food service management/safety.
• Associate’s or higher degree in food service management or hospitality with relevant coursework.
• Current Sanitation Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• Knowledge of Federal and State LTC Food and Nutrition Services regulations.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly.
• Ability to make independent decisions in residents' best interest.
• Professional demeanor with residents, families and staff.
• Leadership ability and teamwork with other personnel.
• Willingness to participate in supervision and in-service training.
• Ability to handle confidential data with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Ensure departmental policies and procedures are followed.
• Attend resident care plan conferences and participate actively.
• Assess nutritional status of residents per standards of care.
• Recruit, interview, and select FNS personnel with Administrator approval.
• Schedule department work hours and assignments to expedite work.
• Complete performance evaluations timely.
• Ensure credentials and training for FNS personnel and compliance with procedures.
• Plan, conduct, and participate in in-service education programs.
• Orient new employees to the facility and department.
• Monitor equipment, supplies, and budgets; place orders as needed.
• Maintain up-to-date diet lists, blue cards, and resident diet census.
• Complete MDS sections and care plans to support nutrition.
• Interact with residents/families to assess meal acceptance.
• Review meal monitoring forms and address decreased intake.
• Maintain stock levels of food supplies and ensure safe operation of equipment.
• Work with Corporate management to implement changes.
• Develop and maintain the Quality Assurance Program.
