Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health in Massachusetts is seeking a Food Service Aide to support patient meals in accordance with physician diet orders. Under supervision of the Patient Services Manager, you will update menus, assist with nourishment setup, and coordinate with the dietitian.

Responsibilities include taking room service orders, updating diet sheets, visiting patients to confirm selections, and ensuring accurate data entry.

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred.
• Minimum one year hospital or nursing home food service experience preferred.
• Excellent English speaking and writing; strong customer service.

Responsibilities

• Update non-room service menus daily according to diet orders.
• Take and verify room service menu orders by patient name and room.
• Process and correct menu orders to match prescribed diet.
• Update diet sheets with tray and diet order changes.
• Visit non-room service patients daily to assist with menu selection.
• Transcribe special instructions to diet sheets promptly.
• Consult Diet Office with patient questions or concerns.
• Complete at least one Patient Visitation Report daily.
• Attend relevant in-service training and maintain hygiene standards.
