Job summary

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nutrition or partial BS progress in Nutrition.
• Minimum 2 years clinical experience as a diet tech.
• Prior patient contact and food service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes menus with patients considering allergies, ethnicity, preferences and nutrition plan.
• Delivers meals to patients per prescribed diet order and department standards.
• Sets up and feeds patients as needed.
• Documents clinically using the computerized or Kardex system.
• Provides nutrition counseling and educates patients on food choices per medical requirements.
• Retrieves food carts from kitchen and delivers to patient floors.
• Carries trays to patients delivering timely meals per diet order.
• Collaborates with kitchen/dietitian to meet patient requests.
• Maintains cleanliness and safety of unit kitchens and stocks as needed.
• Records daily temperatures of fridges/freezers.
• Checks patient trays and assists in tray production.
• Gathers QA data to ensure documentation meets standards.
• Maintains a clean, safe environment to support patient satisfaction.
