Job summary

Independent School District 196 in Rosemount, MN is seeking a Nutrition Services Associate to support breakfast and lunch service during the school day. You will perform production, preparation, and service under the food service manager, following department standards for meal accounting and cashiering on a computerized POS system.

Candidates should be a high school graduate, able to lift 40 pounds, stand for several hours, and complete the Serve Safe course within a year.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be a high school graduate or hold GED.
• Basic arithmetic, reading, and writing skills
• Ability to safely lift up to 40 pounds, stand on a hard surface for 3-6 hours, bending twisting, repetitive motions.
• Experience in institutional food service operations and/or school foodservice helpful.
• Must complete Serve Safe course and pass exam with 70% accuracy or higher within 1 year of hire date.
• Previous knowledge of point of sale experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative to complete job duties within the contracted hours.
• Must be able to work independently and manage their time efficiently.
• Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a culturally, ethnically, racially and socioeconomically diverse school community is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Comply with department standards to account for meals (reimbursement and ala carte sales).
• Comply with food service manager's instruction on clean-up of kitchen, serving area, cafeteria and dishroom.
• Comply with standards of safety in handling, preparation, storing and serving food.
• Work on computerized point of sale equipment to process students through breakfast and lunch lines.
• Work efficiently and cooperate with other employees.
• Attend job-related training classes and workshops.
• Interact with students in a positive and professional manner.
• Other duties as assigned.

Nutrition Services Associate: $20.91 - $23.42 Hourly
