Job summary

Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD is seeking a Nutrition Services Assistant for a part-time role (32 hours bi-weekly) with shifts from 7:00a to 3:30p. The position supports meals for patients, staff, and visitors while upholding safety and sanitation standards.

You will prep, serve, and deliver meals, sanitize areas, and follow HACCP and other guidelines. Education: high school diploma preferred; experience in food service or healthcare preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in food service, customer service, or healthcare preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Able to weigh, measure ingredients, and perform basic math.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, serve, and deliver meals following daily production sheets.
• Sanitize kitchenware, food prep areas, and service stations.
• Handle food items safely, following all health and hygiene guidelines (HACCP, TJC, etc.).
• Label, date, and store food properly, using First In/First Out (FIFO) method.
• Support infection control and kitchen cleanliness at all times.

We are currently seeking a Nutrition Services Assistant to join our dedicated Nutrition Services team. This position plays an essential role in delivering quality food service to patients, employees, and guests while maintaining the highest standards of safety and sanitation.

What You’ll Do:
