Job summary

Prairie Mountain Health in Grandview seeks a Diet Aide to support Nutrition Services. Under supervision, you will assist in food preparation, portion control, and meal distribution while adhering to safety and sanitation standards.

You will work with a team to ensure diet guidelines are followed, assist in training staff, and help with inventory and basic cash handling. This role promotes Indigenous engagement and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Grade 10 (Manitoba Standards) or equivalent education.
• Food Handler Training Certificate Level 1 or willing to obtain within six months.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
• Demonstrated dexterity, speed and efficient work methods.
• Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
• Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated flexibility to facilitate changes in techniques and procedures.
• Ability to display independent judgment and respect for confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food service assembly, production and distribution with emphasis on portion control and safety.
• Ensure familiarity with all diets and therapeutic guidelines for menu preparation.
• Maintain clean, sanitary preparation and storage areas; manage leftovers appropriately.
• Assist with meal service, tray delivery, and cash register duties.
• Assist with inventory, orders, and par stock; support quality audits.
