Job summary

Prairie Mountain Health is seeking a Dietary Aide for the Swan Valley Health Facilities in Swan River. You will assist in assembling, producing and distributing meals with attention to portion control, sanitation, and safety, while supporting therapeutic diet guidelines.

The role supports nutrition services operations under supervision, with a focus on accurate food preparation, cash handling, and maintaining clean service areas. Evening shifts and part-time hours reflect patient care needs.

Qualifications

• Grade 10 (Manitoba Standards) or equivalent.
• Current Food Handler Training Certificate Level 1 or ability to obtain within six months.
• Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).
• Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to work independently.
• Ability to follow policies, procedures and therapeutic menus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food service assembly, production and distribution.
• Ensure portions, temperatures, sanitation and safety standards are met.
• Operate cash register and complete related cash procedures.
• Maintains clean and sanitary preparation and service areas.
• Adheres to therapeutic diets and menu guidelines as directed.
