Job summary

Fairview Health Services in Maplewood, MN is seeking a Nutrition Service Aide to prepare and serve food, maintain sanitation, and deliver patient meals in a fast-paced hospital setting.

You will follow standardized recipes, assist on traylines, handle tray delivery and floor stock, and support infection control and safety across the unit.

Responsibilities

• Prepares food in an efficient, safe, and timely manner according to department service times and schedules, using standardized recipes and following proper techniques.
• Washes dishes and/or pots and pans according to established procedures and time frames.
• Practices proper infection control methods including handwashing, personal hygiene, and infection control policies.
• Performs a specific task on trayline during the assembly of patient trays.
• Delivers trays to patients, collects trays after meal service. Delivers floor stock and/or nourishments to patients and nursing unit.
• Performs a variety of cafeteria and/or coffee shop duties which may include plating, using portion control and cashiering operation.
• Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
• Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.

Job Overview

Fairview is looking for a Nutrition service aide who is responsible for preparing and serving food, maintaining sanitation standards, delivering patient meals, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a fast-paced team environment while ensuring food quality and safety and To prepare food according to guidelines, stock supplies, provide service to all customers and/or perform tasks that relate to food preparation, sanitation, and service.

Responsibilities

• Prepares food in an efficient, safe, and timely manner according to department service times and schedules, using standardized recipes and following proper techniques. Covers, labels, dates, and rotates all food prior to storing to ensure department and regulatory agency standards are met.
• Washes dishes and/or pots and pans according to established procedures and time frames.
• Practices proper infection control methods including handwashing, personal hygiene, and infection control policies.
• Performs a specific task on trayline during the assembly of patient trays.
• Delivers trays to patients, collects trays after meal service. Delivers floor stock and/or nourishments to patients and nursing unit.
• Performs a variety of cafeteria and/or coffee shop duties which may include plating, using portion control and cashiering operation.
