The job of Nutrition Services Worker-Traveling involves supporting food service activities at assigned locations, including preparing and serving food to students and staff, and maintaining food service facilities in a safe and sanitary condition.

Essential Functions

  • Arranging food and beverage items according to manager instructions for efficient service.
  • Attending meetings, training, and workshops to gather information for job functions.
  • Cleaning utensils, equipment, and food areas to maintain sanitary conditions.
  • Cooking food to meet nutritional and meal requirements.
  • Estimating food preparation amounts and adjusting recipes to minimize waste.
  • Inspecting food items and supplies for quality and compliance with health standards.
  • Inventorying food, supplies, and equipment to ensure availability for menu requirements.
  • Maintaining sanitation in equipment, storage, and food preparation areas.
  • Monitoring kitchen and cafeteria areas for safety and sanitation.
  • Performing functions of other nutritional positions as requested to ensure adequate staffing.
  • Preparing food and beverages to meet nutritional standards and meal projections.
  • Reporting equipment malfunctions for repair or replacement.
  • Serving food items to meet nutritional and customer requests.
  • Performing other duties as assigned to ensure efficient operations.

Requirements

  • Age 16 or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Job-related experience preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and push/pull up to 150 lbs throughout the day
