Job Description
The Nutrition Service Supervisor supports management, planning, and coordination of activities within the Nutrition Services Department to provide nutritional services to patients, employees, and guests. The position involves implementing policies and procedures to support cafeteria management, food preparation, distribution, service, purchasing, sanitation, safety, staffing, and staff development. The Supervisor may also assist the Dietitian with nutrition assessments if qualified.
The Supervisor is responsible for fostering an environment and culture that enables the department to meet or exceed its goals. This includes ensuring the delivery of quality, equitable, and culturally competent patient-centered care; promoting an inclusive work environment; and ensuring ongoing cultural and sensitivity training for new and existing employees to meet the needs of the patient population served.

Qualifications
- CDM or Dietetic Technician registration with ADA if required by State or regulatory agency.
- Current ADA membership if required by State or regulatory agency.
Education, Training, and Experience
- Graduate of an associate degree program in food service, with knowledge of nutrition and dietetics, hospital food service operations, and H.A.C.C.P. guidelines.
- Two years of healthcare food service experience, preferably in a supervisory role.
Machines and Equipment Used
General office equipment such as telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, computer.
Physical Requirements
- Good visual acuity and communication abilities.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and retrieve objects regularly, including lifting up to 50 pounds and pushing/pulling objects weighing up to 150 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to perform overhead retrievals up to 50 pounds.
- Prolonged standing and walking.
- Reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching as needed for patient care and equipment setup.

- Work may occur under stressful circumstances.

- Meet attendance standards.

- Work scheduled shifts, including weekdays, weekends, evenings, nights, and holidays, as needed.
