Mounds View Public Schools is seeking a Nutrition Service Employee - Temporary to support school meals programs. The role runs Monday through Friday, about 4 hours daily, starting November 9, 2026 and ending June 11, 2027.

Pay starts at $20.02/hour with additional pay for certifications as per the Nutrition Services Labor Agreement. Responsibilities include assembling supplies, preparing meals, serving students, cleaning equipment, and assisting with daily operations.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must obtain SNA Level I certification within 12 months of hire.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety practices in food handling.
• Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment and measurements.

Responsabilidades

• Assemble food supplies, measure ingredients and assist with meal prep according to Kitchen Manager specifications.
• Assist with food prep for shipping to other locations.
• Clean all food service equipment and areas; wash dishes and utensils.
• Set up serving line and gather carts, trays, napkins and utensils; place items for customers.
• Assist with preparation of sandwiches, desserts, salads and other items.
• Serve food to customers.
• Attend workshops and trainings for professional growth.
• Other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday, 4.0 hours per day
Start Date: November 9, 2026
End Date: June 11, 2027
Pay: $20.02/hour (Plus additional pay based on certification levels held per the Nutrition Services Labor Agreement)

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to obtain SNA Level I certification within 1 year of hire

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety practices related to handling and serving food
• Ability to use standard kitchen equipment, utensils and measurements
• Knowledge of basic food preparation including washing, cutting and assembling food items and ingredients

Physical Requirements

• Continuously stand, reach with one or both hands, lift up to 15 pounds; frequently twist, lift up to 40 pounds, push and pull up to 15 pounds; occasionally crouch, kneel, stoop, lift up to 50 pounds.

Job Responsibilities

• Assemble food supplies, measure ingredients and assist with preparation of meals according to specifications from the Kitchen Manager or Assistant Kitchen Manager.
• Assist with preparation of food for shipping to other locations.
• Clean all food service equipment and preparation and service areas; wash dishes, pots, pans and utensils used in preparation and service of meal.
• Set up serving line and gather carts, trays, napkins and utensils; place items in proper location for customers.
• Assist with preparation of sandwiches, desserts, salads and other items.
• Serve food to customers.
• If needed per the Manager of Nutrition Services, assume duties of Kitchen Manager or Assistant Kitchen Manager.
• Attend workshops, in-services, conferences or organizational meetings for continued professional growth and training.
• Other duties as assigned.
