The Nutrition Services Clerk is responsible for essential clerical duties related to the nutritional care and food service for patients. The role involves ensuring patients receive food as ordered by their Physician and/or Dietitian, assembling patient food trays accurately and efficiently, and assisting in the kitchen as needed.

Qualifications

• License or Certification: Food Handlers course as required by state or county
• Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent; minimum one-year experience as a Diet Clerk/Nutrition Services Clerk in an acute care facility preferred
• Skills: Effective communication in writing and verbally

General office equipment such as telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, computer

Physical Requirements

• Good visual acuity and communication ability
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and retrieve objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly
• Ability to push/pull objects weighing up to 150 pounds on wheels with assistance if needed
• Ability to reach, stoop, bend, kneel, and crouch as required for patient care and equipment setup
