Job summary

The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services’ Cherokee Mental Health Institute is seeking a Food Service Worker to join our team. This full-time role runs 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

on rotating days, weekends, and holidays, with opportunities for advancement. You will assist in the diet line, check in deliveries, follow recipes, and help with pre-prep, cafeteria setup, dishwashing and cleaning. A background check is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of methods and practices of food preparation and service.
• Ability to follow sanitation standards and safety practices.
• Willingness to complete a background check.
• Capacity to work rotating days, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the diet line area and prep work.
• Check in food deliveries for quality and freshness.
• Help with cafeteria setup and dishwashing.
