Job summary

Elder Services of Berkshire County, Inc. is seeking a dependable Nutrition Kitchen Assistant/Prep Person to support our Nutrition Program and daily meal operations.

You will help prepare and package nutritious meals for older adults and individuals with disabilities, working with a kitchen team to ensure quality and safety throughout meal production. This hands-on role focuses on food preparation, meal service, packaging, stock organization, and maintaining sanitation in a collaborative

Qualifications

• Dependable and team-oriented
• Experience with food preparation and kitchen tasks is beneficial
• Ability to follow food safety, sanitation and workplace safety procedures

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily food preparation, including preparing, portioning and assembling food items.
• Serve and portion meals on the meal service line and replenish food as needed.
• Pack hot and cold meals according to established procedures.
• Assemble brown bags with bread, milk, desserts and other components.
• Bag daily bread and portion desserts as required.
• Check packaged meals for accuracy and completeness.
• Help with stocking, organizing storage areas and putting away incoming supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment and work areas.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff, Nutrition Program staff, drivers and volunteers.
