Job summary

Elder Services of Berkshire County, Inc. is seeking a dependable Nutrition Kitchen Assistant/Prep Person to support our Nutrition Program and daily meal operations. The role involves food prep, meal packaging, and ensuring safe, orderly kitchen operations for meals served to older adults and individuals with disabilities.

The position is part-time, with a Monday–Friday schedule, and requires teamwork, attention to detail, and a willingness to follow established procedures and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in food service or kitchen operations preferred but not required.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation preferred.
• ServSafe or food handler certification preferred, or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily food preparation, including portioning and assembling food items.
• Serve meals on the service line and replenish food as needed.
• Pack hot and cold meals according to procedures.
• Assemble brown bags with items like bread, milk, and desserts.
• Maintain organized storage areas and assist with stocking.
