Job summary

Clovis Community College in California is seeking a part-time Food/Nutrition Instructor to support the college’s diverse student body through engaging nutrition courses on campus and at off-site locations.

Responsibilities include course development, assessment of student learning, collaboration on committees, and delivering instruction using varied methods, including online or hybrid formats, to ensure student success.

Qualifications

• All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-Minded practice within the classroom; and

Responsibilities

• Teaching nutrition courses on the Clovis Community College campus and at off-site locations.
• Serving on college and district committees.
• Course development, program review and developing and assessing student learning outcomes to improve student learning.
• Coordinating the dietary service supervisor program.
• Maintaining liaison with work experience sites, local school districts, and other college and university professionals.
• Using a variety of pedagogies and instructional delivery systems including online, hybrid formats.
• Communicating effectively with students, faculty and staff.
• Evaluating student progress through tests and examinations, written assignments, oral responses, etc.
• Providing course syllabi to students.
• Maintaining classroom records in accordance with District Policy.
• Turning in all required student grading and evaluation reports in a timely manner.

Education

Master’s degree in nutrition, dietetics or dietetics and food administration

Bachelor’s degree in any of the above AND Master’s degree in chemistry, public health or family and consumer studies/home economics

A valid California Community College Credential

The equivalent education and/or experience (requires an equivalency)
