The YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South is seeking a full-time Floater & Cook to prepare nutritious meals and snacks for our Early Learning Centers in Hernando, MS. You will deliver meals, maintain CACFP records, and manage purchases with a focus on safety and efficiency.

You will follow the Director's menu, uphold USDA/health department regulations, and help train staff in nutrition and food safety while maintaining organized production worksheets and inventory control.

Formación

• 21 years of age or older.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to bend, reach and stand for long periods of time.
• CPR/AED and First Aid Certification required (within 30 days of hire).
• Complete required New Employee Orientation and all training as assigned by the association.
• Must be reliable, punctual and responsible.
• Able to work independently, some shifts will occur without the direct supervision of the supervisor.
• Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals, preferably in a childcare facility.
• Must obtain a valid Food Safety Certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsabilidades

• Create home-style, nutritional meal plans within school menu and budget, and conform to state/federal requirements.
• Prepare meals/snacks for children and distribute to classrooms per health guidelines.
• Follow the Director-provided daily menu with USDA/licensing/health dept regulations.
• Maintain inventory of food and supplies and order as needed.
• Plan, prepare and serve attractive, nutritionally balanced meals for children and promote healthy eating.
• Use Production Worksheets to plan amounts of ingredients for the number served.
• Adhere to recipes to meet nutritional requirements (30% total fat).
• Ensure food supplies are securely stored.
• Keep kitchen and equipment clean per DHS standards and food safety practices.
