Job summary

The College of Central Florida is seeking a faculty member to teach nutrition and related sciences, develop curricula, and contribute to college service and public service as outlined in the Faculty Handbook. The position requires commitment to a diverse student population and the ability to engage students in active learning at Citrus, Levy, Ocala campuses and the Hampton Center.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nutrition or Food Sciences or a master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Nutrition, Food Sciences, Biochemistry or Biology.
• Three years of related work experience; teaching experience preferred.
• Commitment to instruction for a diverse student population; strong interpersonal, oral communication and writing skills.
• Knowledge of learning and assessment theories and methods as they relate to pedagogy.
• Technical skills and subject matter knowledge; initiative, resourcefulness and adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and teach course content and curriculum using effective methodologies and assessment tools.
• Maintain expertise in field of study and teaching pedagogy.
• Maintain active participation in professional organizations as appropriate.
• Participate in enrollment management and share professional expertise with colleagues and students beyond the classroom.
• Provide support and leadership for recruitment, marketing, and program development.
• Support student activities, offer course and career guidance to foster love of learning.
